The workmen safety is always the primary concern for L&T Construction. With, the current methods of training getting obsolete, it was felt that new tech-based Safety Training is introduced. L&T Construction had approached Xenium Digital for the creation of Safety Training Modules in Virtual Reality so that the workmen consume more information during the training sessions and thus the number of accidents at the construction sites can be brought down to a minimum.

At L&T construction the worker safety is of utmost importance. It was required that the safety training methods be made more impactful. Xenium offered a solution in Virtual Reality. Xenium initially studied the current safety manuals of L&T and how it is being carried out at the site. The biggest challenge here was how to make it more impactful and interesting. At the start, the detailed storyboard was created to capture different scenarios at the construction site. This was then converted into 3D Graphics and implemented in VR Application for HTC Vive and Gear VR. The application was developed for two use cases Safe work methods for Excavation and Safe work methods for work at height. As soon as the user wears the headgear, he gets immersed in a virtual construction site (a virtual world). The narrator guides through various aspects of workmen behavior on the construction site. The nicely designed 3D graphics along with the good audio design creates a powerful impact. Its first-person view, so that the user (i.e. the worker) is able to co-relates with the real-life situations and hence consumes more info as compared to traditional safety training sessions.
